My First Admittance

Folk Fest 09 was a great time for me to reflect. Some personal issues were scorching my brain constantly. I ended up spending an hour and a half crying in my car over a bad zoomers trip, but I learned something I think will help me everyday from here on in.

Admit fault. Everyone fucks up. Everyone has lied, everyone has created conflict when they could have been avoided, and more common, nobody's perfect. Everyone has fault. So why is it so hard to admit that? I've lied many times in the past to so many different people. Why? Selfishness. I think that if people believe that I am more righteous than what I actually am, I will gain more respect. But there's a bigger picture. If people just open up and stop pretending to be something they're not, the entire world would be so much more understanding.

So admit to your faults. Find some things you've done in the past, or maybe something you've said to someone that wasn't the most virtuous way to live, and celebrate the finding by expressing the truth to them. I think it will surprise you how that makes you feel.
